Hands Down the Best, Most Complete Gardeners Gift Guide You’ll Ever See!

It’s just about that time of year again. No, not Christmas, silly! THAT time of year. The one that includes Easter, then Mother’s Day, then Father’s Day, three gift-giving opportunities, all in the space of less than 2 months.

So, what to do? Well, shop from my gift guide, of course!

I found so many cool gifts that I didn’t want to make it one big jumble of stuff because you’d probably throw up your hands and click away. So, the gifts are arranged in categories, as follows:

  • Trimmers and Tools
  • Gloves, Hats and Shoes (subdivided into women and men)
  • Books
  • Bees, Butterflies & Beneficials
  • Just for Fun

You can scroll down to a specific category if you want, as I’ve given them nice, big, bold headings for easy reference.

Trimmers and Tools (ie., the Practical Stuff)

Pruning Shears (the pruners below are the ones I have. I’ve had them for years and I’m *ahem* not so good at taking care of my tools, but they really do take a licking and keep on ticking! (No, they don’t literally tick). Anyway, they’re really good shears for the price.)

  • Garden Kneeler and Seat (even if you don’t think you need this, you do! Trust me on this!! I LOVE mine!)
  • 28-inch Lopper (great for taking off small tree branches or pruning berry bushes. I don’t have super strong hands or arms and I’m amazed at how much leverage these babies give me!)
  • Folding Hand Saw (great for sawing through tough roots)
  • pH meter
  • Soil thermometer
  • Nail brush (trust me, your gardener will thank you! I use mine constantly during gardening season!)

Gloves and Shoes

Women’s

  • Garden Gloves (these are my preferred gloves when I have to wear gloves because they’re lightweight and I really don’t like wearing gloves!)
  • Rose Pruning Gloves (also great for pruning raspberries & blackberries so you don’t look like you got attacked by an angry cat)

Men’s

  • Gardening Boots
  • Gardening Gloves (of course, I’m not a man so can’t speak to any of these personally (and hubby isn’t a gardener, so he’s no help!)).
  • Rose Pruning Gloves (also great for raspberries & blackberries)

Books

Gardening and books just go together, don’t you think? I’ll give you my top picks for the books that’ve been most helpful for me in my gardening journey below.

Garden Journal Cover

First, a good quality garden journal is a must to keep all your information in one place from year to year.

Guess what? I can help you with that! I’m so excited about the printable journal I’ve created!

You can customize it fully and reprint it year to year so you never have to buy another one! It’s got a wide left margin so you can keep it in a binder, which will allow you to add pockets or anything else you might want, too.

I’ve never found one that had everything I wanted to keep track of, so I made one! You can read all the details and purchase it here.

In addition, there are literally thousands of gardening books out there, but I’ll give you just a few I think are the essentials for an organic gardener’s library:

  • Rodale’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening
  • Natural Pest & Disease Control
  • Great Garden Companions (helpful, but not overwhelming, explanation of companion planting)
  • Vertical Gardening (a must for gardeners with limited space)

Bees, Butterflies & Beneficials

  • Mason bee house (I have one similar to this hanging on my front porch to attract these beneficial (and very docile-meaning they won’t sting you!) bees)
  • Hummingbird Feeder (this is hands-down the BEST hummingbird feeder I’ve ever found. I’ve been feeding hummers for over 15 years, and this type is the easiest to clean and take care of. Just remember NEVER to use red dye in the sugar water, it isn’t necessary to attract the birds and can harm them).
  • Insect Hotel (yes, I have one of these AND a mason bee house because this will attract a more diverse group of beneficial insects to your garden ~ plus it’s really cute, don’t you think?)

Just for Fun! (because we all need a little fun in life, right?)

And closely related to the above:

And last but certainly not least, funny gardening t-shirts:

I hope you’ve enjoyed this list of gardening gifts for your favorite gardener! I tried hard to come up with gifts for everyone, so if I’ve missed anything you think is important, please let me know in the comments so I can add it next time.

If you happen to have an appropriate Pinterest board, the pictures below are pinnable and I’d greatly appreciate a pin or two to help spread the word about my gift guide. Otherwise, happy shopping, smile and have a crazy organic day!

So many good ideas here! I too, love my kneelers. I have a hot pink one. Great gift idea for gardening – but I also used it when I was spring cleaning my lower kitchen cupboards to save my knees from that hard tile!

That’s a great idea! I tend to forget to use kneelers in the house. I do have some of those soft foam tiles they make for kids’ play rooms that I put on my kitchen floor to stand on when canning though. They really save my poor feet and legs when I’m on them for hours at a time.

This is a MASSIVE list of good stuff! It must have taken you days to compile; very impressive! Daddy and I just ordered 10 fruit trees so week after next, maybe next weekend, we’ll be digging holes. I finally found Damson (beach) plums bare root stock…woohoo!

OHHHHHHh I want so many things! Let’s begin with the baseball cap! I always need gloves…. always one finger has a hole… WHY is that?? I think those leaf grabbers would make my life a lot easier with 8 mature oak trees dropping in the fall.
Great ideas.

Those leaf grabbers ROCK! My mom originally got them and I kinda thought “meh”, and then I tried them! Never did understand the one finger with the hole thing either, it is weird. Every woman should rock one of those baseball hats, dontcha think??? LOL
